Hi , I noticed this when I got notification that 7.7.4 was available. When I went to stop the server in order to load the new version it would not stop. I also noticed that the web interface localhost:9000 came up with a server not found on any browser I used. My Squeezebox however continued to access the library without issue. I was able to access the web browser by using 127.0.0.1:9000 and was able to do anything including rescan etc. I loaded 7.7.3 back down but same issues. Im on an iMac on OS X 10.9.5 Mavericks. I have a Player Model: Squeezebox Classic Firmware: 137. I tried changing the port from 9000 to 9002 thinking maybe it was contention. When I remove the media server from the preferences both web browser and squeezbox stop working so I know i'm pointing to that media server. So right now im on 7.7.3 with all working except the media server says starting and the web interfaces are grayed out and the information pane is empty.

Problem with playing WMA radio streams
Hi,
I have problem with playing WMA radio streams using TuneIn.
Currently I am running:
When I select WMA ( for example http://stream.polskieradio.pl/program1 stream) from my TuneIn favorites' streams list there is a silence
At the same time I can play
http://stream.polskieradio.pl/program1
stream using VLC media player without any problem.
Can I fix it by myself (maybe some configuration is required) or there is a LMS bug?
Regards,

How to thoroughly remove LMS 7.7.4 from Mac?
I have an issue that I think a reinstall should address, but it has so far survived my reinstall attempts.
I want to be certain I'm removing all remnants of LMS (especially related to plugins) from my Mac (Yosemite), do the instructions posted in the link below do so?
http://support.logitech.com/en_us/ar...00000069us5AAA
Thanks!

[Logitech Media Server] Which version to choose
In the past i had LMS running on a Windows 7 machine, but this machine gave me issues with load and upgrade ability. Now i have created a VMware ESXi virtual machine which is running Ubuntu and Logitech Media Server (Dedicated VM for LMS) and installed LMS 7.7.3 (logitechmediaserver_7.7.3_all.deb) It was running fine, but had issues with scanning the album collection after i have added albums. I then upgrade to LMS 7.8.1 (logitechmediaserver_7.8.1~1415964505_all.deb) and it seems to be running longer but also crashes during a scan.

LMS 7.7.4 (Mac, Yosemite) Constantly prompts to install update
Hi all,
Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere. On My Mac, running OS X Yosemite, LMS opens System Preferences and loads its own preference panel, prompting me to install an update to LMS - see screenshot below.
I have repeatedly clicked the "install update" button but nothing seems to happen - if I switch to another app, then after a few minutes the LMS System Preference panel jumps to the front again, as if the update installation has completed - but the version number remains the same. If I instead try dismissing the notification and close System Preferences, it pops up again, a few minutes later.
It's getting quite annoying. I have searched in the LMS settings and don't see anything that controls updates.
Any clues or suggestions? OS X Yosemite, LMS 7.7.4 r1410964558

It's getting quite annoying. I have searched in the LMS settings and don't see anything that controls updates.
Any clues or suggestions? OS X Yosemite, LMS 7.7.4 r1410964558

Those URLs do work, but not when called from the prefpane? What URL
would be opened if you clicked that button in the prefpane?
From above page there's a link bottom right to get to the settings.

No apps appearing on newly created mysqueezebox.com accounts linked to LMS 7.7.4
Hello. I set up a mysqueezebox.com account for a friend today. Brand new account. Never been used. I also installed LMS 7.7.4 on a brand new, virgin, dedicated Windows 7 PC running nothing except LMS 7.7.4. We configured a few apps and went to LMS to check them out. Nothing appears on the LMS under My Apps. I changed the account to use mine and all of the apps appear. Back to his account, nothing appears.
I created a new account myself, put the free Sound Effects app in, and that account also shows no apps. Back to my original "known working" account, and all is well.
Is there something up with newly created accounts at mysqueezebox.com? Here is a shot of the My Apps at MSB.com and from the LMS.

PCM sample size : 20 bits or 24 bits
Hi - I'm a bit confused with the sample size used by LMS for 24bits files. The wiki says that index 2 in slimproto is 20 bits (not 24) - is it ? and the HTTP content-type sent to players says audio/L16, despite the index of pcmsamplesize being 2
Anybody knows ?

Radio Pitch
Hi,
After a recent upgrade I've found that a number of the radio stations are no longer playing at the correct speed. Some are, some aren't. eg. BBC Radio 4, RTE Radio 1 are not. I'm running v7.9.0 on OSX 10.10, squeezeslave 1.2-311.
Any tips on how to go about solving this?
Thanks,
D

LMS (any version) will not start on Yosemite 10.10.1
> That command produced the following results:
Looks like you're facing some permission issues. What gives:
ls -l /Users/ronaldmintz/Library/Logs/Squeezebox
?
BTW: you can easily copy paste resulting text from the terminal. No need
to upload screenshots...

I get message "An updated Logitech Media Server version is available" What do I do??
Hi,
I am not very savvy about this so please be patient.
Q1: I use a Mac and the SB2 and am running LMS 7.7.3. I now get a message in system preferences that "An updated Logitech Media Server version is available and ready to be installed" When I click "install" nothing seems to happen. I have rebooted and still, every time I go to system preferences and open the LMS I get the same message. What am I supposed to be doing??
Q2: This may not be related but I cannot seem to get Pandora (I am a paid up pandoraone user) to work today. Everything else seems OK. My music Library as well as SPOTIFY. Anyone know what gives?
Q3: I would like to upgrade from Mountain Lion to Yosemite. Can anyone instruct me what to do to be sure the LMS and my SB will continue to function? Or, should I hold off for a while?
Thank you thank you.
Larry

can't pause in LMS or see playlists in folder
hi,
i've got two (hopefully small) problems:
1. i can't seem to pause in the lms web control. i'm running squeezelite as a service, and i can browse to and play files fine. pausing doesn't seem to work, and i need to power off squeezelite to get playback to stop. this is frustrating as i listen to a lot of longer mixes, and powering down i lose my place in the mix. i've searched some, but i couldn't find others having this issue.
2. i've pointed lms to a folder i keep my playlists in, but in the web control playlists come up as 'empty.' i've searched around some for an answer, and all of the pathnames in each playlist are correct (using unc names). any suggestions? somehow when i just tried again one playlist was showing up (and working), but it was multiple pages and formatted strangely. is there a better way to display playlists? though mostly i'm concerned with getting them to display at all.
thanks for the help! this is a great resource.

JRiver (Multiple Artists) and LMS 7.7.3
I found an existing thread on JRiver and compilations, but it was from 2007, so I felt a new one would not be inappropriate.
I use JRiver for tagging. I have my own system for naming artists for classical music - which, when it works, is perfect for me. The artist is an amalgam of the composer and the principal performer. So if I have an entire album of Heifetz performing Beethoven, the artist would be Beethoven Heifetz. If the album has some music by Beethoven and some by Mendelssohn, the artist for some tracks would be Beethoven Heifetz and for others would be Mendelssohn Heifetz. JRiver would then insert (Multiple Artists) in the Album Artist field.
Switching over to Squeezebox/LMS, when I drill down to select music, I almost always go through genre/artist/album. This gets me where I need to go for single album artists. Sometimes it does for multiple artist albums as well. If, for example, I only want to listen to the Mendelssohn concerto, I'm there. But often, I want to listen to the entire album.* In that case - when things go right - I can go to the information screen for a particular track of the Mendelssohn where it lists the album. By selecting that I get the entire album. In other cases, I do the same thing, but I still only get the tracks related to the particular artist - Mendelssohn Heifetz in my example.
What do I need to do to get the entire album in all cases using this procedure?
* A workaround is to drill down through albums, instead of genres, but this has drawbacks for me, outside the scope of my question.
Edit - OK - now that I've posted the question the problem seems to have vanished.

Adding Pandora to the LMS Menu - What am I missing?
I just subscribed to Pandora but have run into a problem re adding thePandora to my LMS menu. It does not show up anywhere in LMS, but I can find it in the 'MySqueezebox' menu on the SB3. So I can get access to Pandora via my SB3 unit, however I am not able to see the Pandora stations on my LMS menu.
FYI - This is a fairly basic setup in the US - no geocode or VPN issues here afaik.
I seem to recall that this used to/should work, but I've forgotten exactly how to make this happen. (I seem to recall an issue re registering the SB's MAC address with my email address - which I have confirmed to be OK at this point).
I've done a fair amount of research/googling to see if I've missed any key steps in the process - I know some things change/stop working for odd reasons - so at this point I need a sanity check.
If anyone out there has come across this before, let me know.
TIA
Patrick

Building LMS for WD My Cloud
WD My Cloud uses firmware with 64k page memory. I was trying to rebuild LMS to work in this environment.
During the rebuild process it is unable to locate armhf-binary package.
Returns 404 from debian.slimdevices.com stable main.
Appreciate any help to locate this package or any alternate solution.

LMS 7.7.4, OSX Yesemite 10.10.1, cannot install plugins
Got a strange issue running LMS on my Late 2014 Mac Mini. Server starts fine, connects to squeezeboxes, scans media & plays. I want to install BBC iPlayer, Lazysearch2 and SuperDateTime Plugins.
Tick them from the recommended list, restart server and it tells me all 3 plugins have updates. They haven't, it's the same version I downloaded. I then get into a never ending loop of ticking to enable all three plugins, restarting etc. They never actually get enabled.
Tried completely removing LMS my removing the many Squeezebox folders and then re-installed but with the same issue. Tried installing and enabling one at a time, all with no luck.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
Steve

Moving LMS from WHS to Windows 8.1 PC
I have been running Squeezebox/LMS for many years on my Windows Home Server. It's now at the end of its days and I will be moving the server software across to a Windows 8.1 desktop. I have one Boom and one Touch, will be adding a Boom shortly.
Given the time I previously lost in the past messing around trying to find what was the latest reliable WHS software version, I just wanted to ask what's the latest Windows 8 version that is known to be stable? It will just be a plain straightforward install with the only things I'm looking to add being Spotify, DI.fm, good internet radio app (what's good these days?) and ideally a good podcast solution.
It's been a long time since I've been on here but it seems that Logitech have effectively discontinued development of the Squeezebox devices and software, is that the case? Real pity if so as I really like the system.
What is the best way to setup the Windows 8 machine so that it goes to sleep after a certain period but wakes up if any of the squeezebox clients are requesting access to the service? I spent several hours trying and failing to get that working a few years ago, so would majorly appreciate any tips on the best way to get it working nowadays. Thanks.
