Hmm... it should be possible to have the line not wrap, but overflow
instead. I can look into this. Just need to find some really long
metadata :-)

Advanced Search: Song Info ()

Normally I don't use the advanced search, so maybe it's just me being stupid, but:

  1. Advanced Search
  2. Artist contains "Pi"
  3. Search "Albums"
  4. Click in the results on any "M" (More)


I just get this:

Name: lms_as.png Views: 82 Size: 4.9 KB

Clicking the "M" works as expected when I search for "Songs" instead of "Albums".

Classic FM gone silent

Does anyone know why Classic FM has gone silent? I love listening to this station on my Squeezeboxes (Touch, Duet, Boom, and Radio), but now although it looks like it is streaming happily as normal, no sound is coming out. All the other stations work fine. I'm running LMS 7.9.1. Any ideas?

Well, I guess for #1 you'd need #2 or some other source, too.

Sure, anything is possible :-). You could have a plugin scanning the
albums table, looking up stuff wherever, then replace data in that
table. I actually just implemented something similar for genres (no
lookup, but the post-scan type of plugin manipulating the tables).

Songs are not played from the beginning when song is started

Hi,

first of all, I'm not sure if this is a squeezelite or LMS topic.

However, when I hit the play button from within a search, in an album or a saved playlist, sometimes, the (first) song is started somewhere in the middle of the song, sometimes even at the end of a song (which results in no music being played, and the song is stuck at the end without the playlist moving ahead).

Does anyone else experience similar problems? Can that be solved by a behavior setting (e.g. always start tracks at beginning? But this would mean it's a feature that songs are played where they have been stopped last - is it?)?

Problem sorting album cue file Classical

Hi

My library is composed of single file FLAC with CUE
Everything works fine here except for Classical Album.
My files are named like this : Sergueï Vassilievitch Rachmaninov - Piano Concertos Nos. 1 & 2 (2004) [FLAC].flac
My files have no tag, because the cue file to the job to sort album/artist/genre...

I choose in my CUE that album PERFORMER is the composer name
And each Tracks have as PERFORMER the artists (orchestra, conductor....)

But here LMS show this as Various artists.
I'd like LMS to watch the first PERFORMER of the CUE file has Album artist and show this in my artist list.
I tried to deal this with the misssingtag option in LMS but don't find how to work with.

Port trunking on QNAP NAS and LMS?

Used port trunking to increase the speed when backing up my data to my QNAP NAS (TS-251) with QTS 4.4.1.1216.
I use static IP-addresses for the adapters and changed one address to be able to use it as a static port trunking address.
The first day (no restart) it all worked well with LMS.
Today, after restart (I turn off the NAS during the night) both a Boom and a Touch started stuttering with the Radio Paradise FLAC stream
Less with streams with lower speeds. Local files played smoothly.
Have I missed a setting somewhere?

How large is your collection?

Unless the scan finishes correctly you can expect anything else not to
be what you'd expect :-)

Check the scanner.log for hints about the optimize step.

Enable logging for "server" and make the setting stick in
Settings/Advanced/Logging. Then restart LMS to see in server.log where
it spends the most time. How do you determine the startup time? When do
you consider it fully started?

LMS 8.0.0 + Radio

Hi

installed LMS 8 on QNAP (using QLMS 2): Logitech Media Server Version: 8.0.0 - 1583188601 @ Mon Mar 2 23:54:19 CET 2020

Now connecting with one of my 3 radios does not work - Message: xxxxx needs to be updated to a newer version of Logitech Media Server
When connecting with my Boom, Transporter, Squeezeplay - everything works fine.

Then I tried the same on Windows 10 - When using LMS 8.0.0 - same problem occurs
Going back to LMS 7.9.3 everything works fine again.

Radios do use the version 7.7.3 r16676. I did not find any newer version for baby.

Any hints?

Problem connecting on internet radios

Hello,

I have a problem for a long time, and I don't know how to solve it.
My config : LMS 7.9.2 on a Synology NAS.

I can stream easily from spotify to LMS, and some internet radios are working, but lot of them are not.
When I play an internet radio (copying the url, from tune in, from the radio category...) The title and the picture are displaying, but no sound at all.

I don't know where I can find logs to help to find a solution?

Editing favorites from cli - possible ?

I see the favorites.opml and favorites.opml.backup files, but can only edit the .backup file ... the actual favorites file cannot be edited (nano editor reports that it is exclusively accessed by root) ..

I am unclear what triggers changes to the .backup file... I went to the Web UI, and edited the names of some items. I then rescanned the library -- going back to ssh to the server, I saw no changed in the .backup file ...I was thinking of re-naming the favorites file to see if the system automatically then copied the .backup file...but thought I wld reach out to the group.

I did a ls -al for the directory, and saw a file favorites.opml.swp --- I renamed it to favoritesold.opml.swp and was then able to edit the favorites.opml.

I am assuming the .swp file is some sort of lock ... I edited a folder name and it appeared in the web UI ...

skip to next album

Is there a simple way to skip to the next album using the jsonrpc interface?
I assume it can be done in a script by checking each track and only playing if the album is not the same as the one playing. However if there is a "next album" command it would be much easier for non-programmer me.

That should still work. Make sure you've enabled the "Browse Filesystem"
or similar item in Settings/Player/Additional Browse Modes.

setting DB server

Hi

I attempt to follow the steps at http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.ph...MySQL_instance but fail gloriously.

My DB server is not on the same machine and I need to set a host. I've created db and user according the wiki.
But the connection string gets reset everytime I start the service (on arch).

what would be the proper connect string to connect to a db on another host?

No connection to radio stations via Tuneln Radio

Hello,
since nearly one week I have a curious problem with my LMS configuration (currently 3 Squeezbox Radios, Latest Server Version 7.9.3 on Raspbian Buster Desktop)
Maybe someone of you have an idea how to fix.

Problem:
As I said since one week no Radio station access via Radio/Tuneln possible. Same problem on all of my squeezeboxes

Log entry:

Cannot post the log entry becaus of forum rules (no link). Will follow.

If I try to access "Tuneln Radio" (application) from one of my squeezebox radio directly, after some time I get the error message "Error on HTTP socket:".
Trying to access from squeezbox server gui, nearly the same problem messsage occurs. After a while the message "Beim Laden des Remote-Feed von TuneIn Radio ist ein Fehler aufgetreten: (Error on HTTP socket: )" pops up.

Now some interesting additional information, since I have been working on this problem for some time.

1. If I copy one of my Radio station address and change the access from "http" to "https" I get access to the radio station!
2. Access to radio stations via radio.de works (general). But it takes almost 7 seconds. until I hear the radio station. I also get the error message "Unable to access server"
3. If I connect one of my radio back to mysquezzebox.com, everything works fine! Same radio stations fast connetion without any trouble! Also no problem if I click on "Tuneln Radio" button. Fast connection with no problem!


What I have done so far? Several complete new installations of my LMS environment also with different LMS Versions (e.g. 7.9.2) on different Raspbian images (e.g. Raspbian Buster Light). In all cases the same problem.

What happened last time?
I had to change my router from Fritzbox 6490 to 6591 because of the 1000 Mbit access. But every connection from / to my network works without problems (Qnaps, PCs, cameras, VPNs)!
Speaking of. Even before I changed the router, my radios regularly lost the connection to my radio stations. The radios were restarted automatically and reconnected automatically. However, this happened very often. But I didn't think about it. Maybe the router was just renewing the connection?

This is my story. Hope someone can help.

Squeezebox Boom turning on and playing every afternoon after server migration

I recently had to decom my old Squeezebox server and moved this service to my Synology NAS. I installed the most recent 7.x version that was available for separate download/installation.

I set things back up and added my Squeezebox Radio to the new server and it seems to work as expected.

A week or so later I set up and added my Squeezebox Boom to the server and played some music from an iTunes plugin created playlist.

Every day since then the Boom has turned itself on and started playing from this playlist.

There is no alarm programmed.

How can I further troubleshoot this issue? Is there a log I should turn up debugging on to understand what is happening? The Squeezebox Boom worked perfectly on the previous installation.

Touch loses (cable) connection, power cycling helps temporarily

One of my touches started to somehow disconnect from LMS. It doesn't look disconnected, but it's not available in iPeng, etc. Next time this happens (saw this two times in a couple of days) I'll try and see if the touch still has access to the server and it "just" lacks controllability.

Un- and replugging the touch helps for a while. I've read here many times that faulty wifi modules or power supplies sometimes cause some trouble. Could this be it? I think I'll just switch the power supplies for now and see what happens.
